Hi guys! How y’all doin?
So for Inspiration Monday, I was inspired by a video I saw on twitter a couple of days ago. You can watch the video right now down below.
I was really impressed by what this little girl chose to do. Instead of letting the bullying get to her, she decided to start her own t-shirt line and motivate others who are going through what she’s gone through. I love the statement she makes at the end which is the focal point of this post- DON’T LET NOBODY BRING YOU DOWN.
Yaaaas girl, cause that’s the truth. Couldn’t be any simpler than that really. In this life, truth is, your going to meet people who don’t like you- for your complexion, size, talents, abilities, achievements, what you can do, what you can’t do, the list is unending. Some people will even not like you for no reason at all. Honestly! But you can’t let none of that get to you. You can’t let none of that bring you down. You got to know who you are, what you’re made of and where your headed and you can’t let anything stop you. The only thing you owe people like that is success. As my teacher in church would say you just need to tell yourself- “you know what, I’m not going to stress over you because you’d be my employee 😏. Ha! In fact, I thank God for your life, because without you, I won’t be where I am today”. Because without those bullies, little Kheri won’t be the proud owner of a t-shirt line at the age of 10!
So what am I saying? I’m saying you shouldn’t let anyone make you feel less pretty or less confident or less amazing or less of yourself because the truth is you are perfect. You are beautiful, you are smart, you are amazing! You are YOU. And God loves you just the way you are. For me, that is enough. God loves you soooo much. More than you can imagine. The Bible puts it this way
……For God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.] By this the love of God was displayed in us, in that God has sent His [One and] only begotten Son [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind] into the world so that we might live through Him.
1 JOHN 4:8-9 AMP
God’s love is enough for me. So, I don’t need anyone’s approval because honestly, if you are waiting for someone’s approval, you will wait a very long time.
The road to your dreams isn’t going to be all rosy and okay. Sure you’ll face obstacles and disappointments and the likes but what defines a man isn’t how many trials he faces but how many he overcomes. How you choose to react to a situation is most important. When you face haters, and trust me you will, how will you react? Will you let their negativity get to you, or will you make a testimony out of it?
