The best thing in my life | Inspiration Monday

This is going to be a very short post but I hope you’re blessed.

Everyone has those days that are filled with so much fun, laugher and joy and you never ever want them to go away. But then you have those days that suck. When you want to crawl up in a hole and never come out. Or when you feel like your hearts been ripped right out of you and you’re not sure if you’re going to be okay anymore.

I wish I could tell you that I’ve got the best life and I have life all figured out. But I don’t. I’m a regular teen, I have acne sometimes, I have breakdowns, I cry, I love food and I have insecurities. I wish I could tell you that I’ve had the best memories and the best support group. But I don’t. I’m just like everyone else. But what I can tell you is that I have something extra.

The best thing that ever happened to me was knowing Jesus. Having Him in my life. He gives me hope and puts light in my life. I sometimes wonder how I would have turned out without Jesus. I’d probably be a depressed teen with issues. Or with some sort of constant mental distress. Or maybe even in a gutter somewhere. But thank God I’m here, in one piece, looking better than ever, and better still, with a future in Christ.

During my college baccalaureate service, the preacher said that we (those in Christ) have an unfair advantage because of Jesus. And that really sunk deep. I have an advantage because of Jesus. He’s saved me when I didn’t ask Him to, loved me unconditionally and is always there for me. Really, what more could a person ask for?

Christ has been my anchor in the lowest of times. He been my friend when I had none. He’s been my teacher when I needed one. He’s been my number one fan when I had none. He’s held my life together when I felt like it was falling apart. He’s stayed with me and encouraged me when I didn’t even believe in myself. He’s been an incredible addition to my life and now He’s totally at the centre of it. And to be honest, I cannot imagine living without Him, because He is my life.

These two verses kinda sum it up:

I know how to get along…….[in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. (But), I can do all things through Christ who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose–I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]

For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced–beyond any doubt] that nothing will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
